Field Closures
Marblehead’s grass fields are overseen by Marblehead Recreation & Parks. When they close a field, it is closed to everyone — no exceptions. As a general rule, if the fields are wet or frozen, please stay off until they’ve had a chance to dry or thaw. This helps us protect the turf so it’s safe and playable all season long.
Always check the Field Status before heading out if there’s any doubt about availability. Different fields drain and recover at different rates, so closures may not apply equally across all locations.
Game Cancellations
- Travel Games: If weather is an issue, MYSA must cancel at least 90 minutes before kickoff. After that, the referee has final say on-site.
- Intramural Games: Families will receive an email from MYSA with delay or cancellation details as soon as possible.
Please note: Coaches do not cancel, delay, or reschedule games due to weather on game days.
