MYSA’s Code of Conduct Policy

At Marblehead Youth Soccer, our goal is simple: create a safe, supportive, and fun environment where kids can grow as players and people. Soccer isn’t just about skills and goals—it’s about teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

To make sure everyone has the best experience, we ask players, coaches, and parents to follow our Code of Conduct. By registering with MYSA, families agree to these expectations.

Players: Play with Respect

  • Use positive language—no offensive or abusive words.

  • Treat coaches, teammates, opponents, and referees with respect.

  • Only speak to referees if they initiate a conversation, or if there’s a safety concern.

  • Always show good sportsmanship by shaking hands with the other team.

  • Follow the ECYSA Zero Tolerance Policy

If a player violates the code:

1. Verbal warning from coach

2. Sit out the next game (not allowed on the field)

3. Removal from the team for the season, with future participation reviewed by MYSA officers

Coaches: Lead by Example

  • Use respectful language and behavior at all times.

  • Never harass or threaten players, referees, families, or fellow coaches.

  • Promote safe play—never encourage dangerous or aggressive behavior.

  • Show sportsmanship by greeting the opposing team and coach after each game (handshakes may be suspended based on safety protocols).

  • Follow the ECYSA Zero Tolerance Policy

If a coach violates the code:

1. Verbal or written warning from MYSA leadership

2. Removal from the team for the remainder of the season; future participation reviewed by MYSA officers

Parents & Guardians: Support the Game

Keep the sidelines positive—no offensive or abusive language.

Treat coaches, referees, players, and families with respect.

Never encourage aggressive or unsafe play.
