Clinic (Kindergarten and 1st Grade)
Kindergarten & 1st Grade Clinic
The Fall 2025 K/1 Clinic kicks off on Saturday, September 6th and runs for 6 weeks, wrapping up with a fun celebration on October 18th. (No clinic on October 11th for the long weekend!)
Weekly Schedule
-
1st Grade Boys – 9:00 am
-
1st Grade Girls – 10:00 am
-
Kindergarten Boys – 11:00 am
-
Kindergarten Girls – 12:00 noon
Each session lasts about one hour: the first half focuses on fun skill-building activities, and the second half gives kids a chance to play a small-sided game with their friends.
At this age, mid-week practices usually aren’t scheduled, but 1st grade teams may add one if a coach and group of players are interested.
What to Expect
The Clinic is all about learning the basics of soccer in a fun, supportive, and energetic environment. Each season includes:
-
Six weeks of soccer at Village School – Middle Fields.
-
Five weeks of skills + small games, ending with a mini “tournament day” in week six where kids rotate through small-sided games and celebrate with ribbons (and a treat, of course!).
-
Separate groups for Kindergarten and 1st grade, both in the fall and spring seasons.
-
Parent volunteers leading the way — no prior coaching or soccer experience needed. Enthusiasm and encouragement go a long way!
Need financial support? We’ll never turn any athlete away on the basis of financial burden. Scholarships are available — just reach out to us for more information.
Coaches Needed!
The K/1 Clinic thrives on the energy of our parent volunteers. If you’re interested in coaching (no experience required!), please reach out to Margaret McGeown. We’ll give you everything you need to feel prepared — and the kids will love having you out on the field.

Practice Schedule
Practice Varies By Age and Coach Availability
With field space at a premium in Marblehead, we typically do not have enough availability to offer practice times for Kindergarten coaches. However, we can make practice time and space available for 1st Grade Coaches if there is interest.
